JUSTIN BIEBER ON SNL

What do girls do that confuses you?
'One time, a fan in Seattle came up to me and for some reason she decided she was going to tackle me. She crept up behind me and gave me a hug, but then she ended up knocking me to the ground. I didn't get that at all. It wasn't nice!'

What is the last lie you told?
'I dunno, I tell a lot of lies! A couple of years ago I had an F grade on a test at school, but I turned it into a B with the teacher's pen! My mom had to sign that she's seen it before I took it back to school, so she had no idea how bad it actually was!'

Have you dumped someone over the phone?
'Yes, I broke up with a girl that way once. That's terrible, isn't it? We got into an argument during a phone call so I basically said, 'I don't wanna be with you and more,' and she cried. I saw her after that and it was a bit awkward, but we're not enemies now, so that's cool.'

How long had you been seeing her?
'Like, seven months. But I wouldn't recommend splitting up with anyone that way. It's very mean!' Have you ever fancied your mom's friends? 'Er, yeah, I probably have. I actually can't remember any one of them in particular, but she's definitely had a few hot friends in the past.'

Could this really be true? Will "Footloose" be Justin's very first major movie role? If it is then this is going to be huge!!

According to sources not only is Justin considered for the lead role but he is at the very top of Paramount's list to replace Chase Crawford who just dropped out of the movie. This would be perfect because "Footloose" is all about music and dancing.

The original movie starred Kevin Bacon and was released in 1984. It is about a city boy who comes to a small town where rock music and dancing have been banned.

Here is the movie trailer:

Now that you've seen the movie trailer, do you think this would be a good first role for JB?

Justin Bieber

How did Justin Bieber fare onSaturday Night Live last weekend? According to the show's stars, the young singer – and PEOPLE's recent cover boy– is a natural comedian.

"That guy is a force of nature," head writer – and Weekend Update anchor – Seth Meyers told PEOPLE at "An Evening withSaturday Night Live," presented by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in New York. "He was really focused on doing a good job. We saw [during rehearsals] that he'd be able to handle a lot."

Bieber – who performed as a musical guest and also appeared in a sketch in which host Tina Fey played a teacher who lusts after her young student – showed his considerable comic chops, impressing executive producer Lorne Michaels who called him a "complete pro."

Said Michaels: "How cool was he? Whatever we threw at him – particularly that teacher's sketch – they were changing it right up to air and they'd go right into his dressing room, tell him the changes and he'd hit them."

And Michaels wasn't the only one impressed with the teenage pop sensation.SNL castmates Bill Hader, and Kenan Thompson also got caught up in Bieber-mania.

"He's a confident kid," says Hader. "That guy definitely doesn't hold back, which I was really impressed with. If I was as confident at that age, my life would've been a lot easier."

Thompson told PEOPLE he immediately bonded with Bieber over their Atlanta connection.

"He was talking to me about Atlanta because I'm from Atlanta and he lives there," Thompson said. "He asked, 'You know how to do the Atlanta handshake?' And I'm like, 'Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's cool.' "

"He's a ball of energy," the comedian continued. "He's a cool young 16-year-old kid who is on top of the world."

How did Bieber land the prime spot on the show in the first place?

Said Michaels: "I have a 12-year-old daughter. First you see the poster go up [in her room] and you start to pay attention after that.

Justin Bieber might be the latest young artist to have taken the music scene by storm, but the pint-sized pop-star's rise to fame isn't the most conventional. The 16-year-old Canadian first caught the radar as a YouTube star, when his mother uploaded shaky home-recordings of his performances at local events.
The amateur footage caught the attention of Atlanta manager Scooter Braun who then introduced Bieber to RnB superstar Usher. The rest is history. Now the star's baby-faced looks and high-pitched voice have garnered a massive following and his debut album 'My World' hit platinum soon after its release in November 2009.
Here are his most notable YouTube appearances:

When students in the Marcus Whitman school district in rural Ontario County started collecting pennies for a charity fundraiser last fall, Justin Bieber was just another Donnie Klang.

A concert by Klang was the prize last year when Honeoye Falls-Lima High School won 98PXY’s High School Challenge and Marcus Whitman came in second. Since then, Klang has faded into pop-star oblivion while Bieber has skyrocketed to fame.

This year, Marcus Whitman edged Honeoye Falls-Lima in the contest and Bieber, fresh from an appearance on Saturday Night Live and with a No. 2 album on the Billboard 200 chart, will perform this week for students in the 1,500-student district in Gorham.

“I think at the time when the kids were bringing in the pennies, Justin Bieber wasn’t Justin Bieber. Now, all of sudden, he’s huge,” said Honeoye Falls-Lima High School principal James Nelson.

In the fall, before Bieber struck it big, the possibility of him coming to the school wasn’t a very big motivator for Marcus Whitman students.

“It’s a good thing we won this year and not last year,” said Jody McLaughlin, a social studies teacher whose leadership-in-action class spearheaded the fundraising campaign.

Marcus Whitman students collected more than $3,000 for the contest to benefit the Hillside Family of Agencies. McLaughlin said officials at radio station WPXY-FM (97.9), which sponsored the contest, don’t want the district to reveal what day Bieber will be at the school to avoid attracting crowds of spectators.

“We’re in the process of making a variety of posters and banners that we’re going to hang up for him,” McLaughlin said.

But the 16-year-old Canadian heartthrob, who is expected to put on a one-hour show, won’t see the greetings until he gets inside the school because district officials are worried signs outside will attract too much attention.

Marcus Whitman students found out they won the contest in December.

“Each day it gets closer it’s more and more exciting. Back in December, people were really excited and it keeps getting more so, particularly among the girls. They are very excited,” said McLaughlin.

Then he added: “I’m probably just as excited as them.”
DEMOCRAT & CHRONICLE

I am almost definite that "Somebody to Love" will be the next video after "Eenie Meenie". It was just released for radio airplay and Justin tweeted about it 2 days ago. He also hinted it in the interview below.

This would be awesome because "Somebody to Love" is my favorite song on the album (because "Pick Me" wasn't included! arrrggghh).

Teen pop sensation Justin Bieber is convinced he has been embraced by the hip-hop community because he isn't a "corny" Disney star like his contemporaries Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers.

The 16-year-old singer is mentored by R&B superstar Usher, and Ludacris provided a rap cameo on his hit track 'Baby.'

Bieber is glad hip-hop's finest are fans of his pop sound, and he's adamant they are keen to work with him because he didn't follow the same route to fame as many other teen artists.

He tells MTV.com, "I like hop-hop a lot. I'm really glad they've taken a liking to me. Having Luda (Ludacris) and having Lil Wayne give me shout me out on UStream, you know - it's cool."

"I think it's because I didn't go through the Disney route. I didn't go corny, but, like, at the same time I've been cool and collected."

But there is one former Disney child star Bieber is inspired by - ex-Mouseketeer Justin Timberlake.

He adds, "Well, basically I look at people like Usher and Justin Timberlake and how they went from being a child star to blowing up and doing what they're doing now. I look up and see what they do and see that's what I want to do... and things that I want to do that's different and things that I wanna do that's working for them."

THE HOT HITS

The Australian morning show "Sunrise" of Channel 7 (the same channel that Justin will be performing on) will be announcing that Justin will longer be shielded from his Aussie fans by protected glass as was previously announced.

"Breaking news! Justin Bieber has been freed. The teen sensation will perform outside. Exclusive details on Sunrise tomorrow."

Usher has again praised his young protégé Justin Bieber.

Explaining why he chose to sign the 'Baby' singer in the first place and make him the overnight pop sensation he is now, the R&B star - who just dropped his new 'Raymond VS Raymond' CD this month - said: "I think it was, first and foremost, his charming, winning, timeless attitude. It's as though he had been here before."

Usher added to the Los Angeles Times: "When I met him, his personality won me over. When he sang, I realized we were dealing with the real thing. His voice just spoke to the type of music I would want to be associated with.

"And it wasn't a gimmick - we had to teach him how to dance and be on stage, but he really had a good voice," added the 'OMG' singer.

"As I said, I think that Justin has been here before, although he's 16," Usher said. "When you talk to him, it's like you're talking to a well-seasoned young man. It's almost like he'd already mapped out in his mind what his story could be and it's up to us to navigate him.

"There couldn't be anybody more proud. He's like a son to me. And never too much - because this is only the beginning. His story has yet to truly unfold."
