Justin Bieber fans were treated to a free, unannounced concert yesterday.
In advance of his performance tomorrow night at the MTV Video Music Awards, the teen singing sensation rehearsed outdoors for close to two hours near the Staples Center in L.A.
Bieber and his young back-up dancers went over every step of his performance, including his (scheduled) arrival in a red 1957 Chevy.
While rehearsing his routine for the song, “Baby,” Bieber moonwalked and practiced a drum solo, though it didn’t go so smoothly. He moaned, ”What’s wrong with my drums? Like, I don’t hear anything and it should be loud… This has to be, like, an epic moment. It’s ending the song.”
He also later griped, “The vocals are too loud in my ear and I can’t hear the groove.”
Bieber, of course, was only trying to make sure everything was perfectly executed for his big performance tomorrow outside the Nokia Theatre, where the Video Music Awards will be handed out.
Anxiously preparing for what's sure to be one of the biggest weekends of his life, Justin Bieber was busy partaking in an MTV interview in Los Angeles, CA on Friday afternoon (September 10).
Always keeping it cool, the "Love Me" hitmaker charmed the cameras while riding in the back of a stylish red and white Cadillac while wearing a matching red and white football style Bieber jacket.
Nominated for Best New Artist and also slated to perform on Sunday night at the VMAs (September 12), Justin tweeted of the day's efforts, "just wrapped up another VMA rehearsal and got the gear together...excited for u guys to see what we put 2gether...something crazy for sure"
A while later, the 16-year-old wrote, "Been at rehearsals on the outside stage at the Staples Center all day for the VMA's!! We are getting it together! 2 more days!!"
