Justin Bieber fan Bailey Hosterman and her grandmother Jeannine Walker wait at the front of the line
yesterday to see the singing teen sensation perform live on the 'Today' show this morning.
A 14-year-old girl has been sleeping for days on the streets of midtown - and her grandmother wouldn't have had it any other way.
Only one thing could make a normally level-headed grandma agree to such an unconventional request: mop-topped heartthrob Justin Bieber, of course.
It took a week of nagging, but 63-year-old Jeannine Walker finally agreed that granddaughter Bailey Hosterman and her best pal could camp out for a chance to see the Canadian pop singer perform live on NBC's "Today" show this morning.
"I told her how awesome it would be and that she would be the best grandma ever," said the eighth-grader, decked out in a Justin Bieber T-shirt.
"He's a really good singer, and he's amazingly cute. His hair is gorgeous."
Walker made the four-hour journey from Philipsburg, Pa., to New York on Wednesday, and helped her granddaughter and friend Connor Bryan, 14, set up camp outside the network's studios in Rockefeller Plaza.
The effort paid off. The girls were first in line, sleeping on inflatable pool floats.
Walker chose to spend her nights in a more comfortable spot - a nearby hotel.
"She's my oldest granddaughter, all she has to do is blink her eyes, pout her lips and say, 'Please,'" Walker said, but added: "I'm too old to sleep on the cement with a poncho."
"I didn't worry, everyone kept stopping to talk to them," she said.
"We text and they always have their phones on."
A kindhearted New Yorker who lives opposite Rockefeller Plaza also offered to keep a watchful eye over the two teenagers at night.
By yesterday afternoon, a line of at least 30 excited girls, and some parents, had joined the line with the hope of seeing Bieber perform live.
This isn't the first time Walker has been her granddaughter's heroine.
Last year, she brought her granddaughter to New York City to see the Jonas Brothers on "Today."
"This isn't crazy," Walker said. "This is making memories."
