2010 AMAs: Justin Bieber Wins Three Coveted Awards

Justin Bieber added three more awards to his collection at the live telecast of the 38th Annual American Music Awards. The Canadian pint-sized idol took home T-Mobile Breakthrough Artist, beating the shortlist of such competitors as Mike Posner, Lady Antebellum and Travis McCoy.

The "Baby" hitmaker who was introduced by fellow young star Willow Smith for his "Pray" performance also pocketed Favorite Pop/Rock Album, thanks to his "My World 2.0". The extended play of his debut album "My World" topped Eminem's "Recovery" and Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream".

Later, Bieber was handed Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist. He once again beat the Slim Shady in addition to his mentor Usher. "Without Michael Jackson, none of us would be here," he said when collecting the prize on stage. The late King of Pop was inspiration behind his new song "Pray".

Although losing two categories to Bieber, the Slim Shady who didn't attend the November 21 prize-giving event managed to grab one prize. The rapper was named Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Male Artist in a tight battle against B.o.B and Drake.

...but they underestimated the power of J Bieber because he actually took home 4 awards (which Ace Showbiz also missed). Justin also won the biggest prize of the night, Artist of the Year beating out Eminem and Usher. Epic!

Earlier in the night Justin Bieber lost Best New Act to Ke$ha at the 2010 MTV Europe Music Awards, but he certainly redeemed himself when he won the category of Best Male. He beat out vets like Eminem, mentor Usher, Enrique Iglesias and Kanye West for the prize.

He accepted the award from "Hannah Montana" star Emily Osment via satellite since he was acting as the night's digital host. Wearing a black leather jacket and T-shirt, he told the crowd at the Caja Magica in Madrid, "This is amazing. I don't even know what to say. I think that all the other artists in the category are inspirations to me. I'm honored to win this. It's a big achievement."

And since Bieber wasn't there, they played the video for "Baby" perhaps to remind everyone why he won the award. Bieber also won the award for Best Push Artist.

Earlier this year, Bieber won the Best New Artist VMA. "Wow," the teen sensation gasped after making his way to the stage back in September. Bieber said that as a young kid from Canada, he was surprised by the honor, saying, "This means a lot to me." The teen star shouted out music industry execs, showed respect to his "big bro" ("Thank you to Usher for being my mentor") and, of course, his fans: "Thank you to everybody here."

Justin Bieber came away the big winner from teen magazine J-14’s first ever J-14 Teen Icon Awards. As voted on by fans, Bieber came away with the win in four categories.

Among the wins for the 16-year-old phenom was Icon of the Year, where he went up against fellow teen titans Miley Cyrus, Nick Jonas, Selena Gomez, Taylor Lautner, and Taylor Swift in the category.

Bieber also picked up Iconic Male Star, beating out Lautner and Jonas again, as well as Joe Jonas, Zac Efron, and Robert Pattinson. He was also awarded Iconic Tweeter over David Archuleta, Katy Perry, Kim Kardashian, Ryan Seacrest, and Joe Jonas.

Demi Lovato beat out Bieber in the Iconic Triple Threat, award to stars who are doing it all including acting, singing and dancing. Miley Cyrus was named Iconic Female Star, over “Twilight” star Kristen Stewart and Lady Gaga, among others.

The AMAs announced this year's nominee slate Tuesday (Oct. 12). Eminem and Bieber will be competing against each other in three categories: artist of the year, favorite male artist and favorite album. The other artist of the year nominees are Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Ke$ha.

Justin Bieber has reigned over Taylor Lautner at 2010 Australian Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. On Friday evening, October 8 at Sydney Entertainment Centre, the "Baby" hitmaker was announced to be the recipient of an orange blimp trophy for Hottest Hottie. He also beat fellow nominee Taylor Swift for the title.

The 16-year-old wasn't the only young performers taking home kudos from the awards voted by Australian teens. Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus also grabbed prizes from the show. Selena landed Fave TV Star nod, while Miley grabbed two awards, Favorite Movie Star and Fave Kiss. The latter she shared with boyfriend and host of the show, Liam Hemsworth.

Though landing the most kudos on the evening, Miley still has to admit defeat from Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens when it comes to the category of cutest couple, which she was nominated with Liam. The "High School Musical" couple garnered most votes for the title, beating also Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom as well as Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

Justin Bieber might have the support of Selena Gomez for his Best New Artist win at 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, but he will have to battle for fans vote against her at another MTV awards. Nominees of 2010 MTV European Music Awards have been made public on Monday, September 20, and it was unraveled that both Justin and Selena are nominated for Best Push Act.

The twosome are up against eight other nominees that include the likes of B.o.B, Ke$ha, Jason Derulo and Alexandra Burke for the nod. While 16-year-old Justin collected two more gongs from Best Male and Best New Act, this Push Act category is the only nomination 18-year-old Selena received. She is nominated along with her band The Scene.

Justin Bieber suits up nicely next to Ciara as they attend the New Look Foundation’s First Annual World Leadership Awards at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta on Friday night (August 6).

Although Lady Gaga in heavily considered the big winner Tuesday with 13 nominations for the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards (airing September 12), Justin Bieber also received some love in the Best New Artist category.

So what was the "Baby" singer's response to all of the attention? Justin shared his thoughts in a new post on his Twitter page:

"Just found I was nominated for Best New Artist at the VMA's! WOW!! I remember walking the red carpet last year and no one knew my name ... thank you to @mtv im honored and congrats to all the nominees and to @ladygaga for her record breaking 13 noms. That's pretty pretty good."

Bieber also cleared up some recent rumors regarding a book being made about him -- he's not working on a memoir, but rather publishing a book full of exclusive stuff surrounding his tour.

Justin Bieber got a huge shock (literally) when Shaquille O'Neal surprised him on stage during Sunday's concert. "Got surprised by my man @THE_REAL_SHAQ on stage tonight in Pheonix (sic)...cant wait until u see why!!!" the 5'4" Bieber tweeted today (Monday).

He was even more surprised though when the 7'1" NBA superstar surprised him with four 2010 Teen Choice Awards. "You didn't win one," Shaq said presenting Bieber with a surfboard taller than him, "you won four." Over a screaming audience, Shaq revealed the 16 year old artist won Choice Breakout Artist, Choice Top Album, Choice Male Artist and Choice Summer Music Star. Fans were just as surprised by the Teen Choice Awards since the awards show doesn't air on Fox until August 9 (8/7pm ET/C).

Bieber and Shaq have been spending a lot of time together lately preparing for the singer's appearance on Shaq's reality show Shaq VS. Shaq's even been practicing his singing and dancing skills so he has a chance to beat Bieber in a dual. During each episode of Shaq VS, Shaq practices and then competes against another celebrity doing what they do best. "I'm out to prove that I can compete beyond athletics," O'Neal said. Shaq Vs premieres Tuesday, August 3 from 9-10pm ET on ABC.

The MuchMusic Video Awards face-off between the “two biggest stars in the music industry today” — as pronounced by co-host and VJ Sarah Taylor — saw Justin Bieber trounce his self-proclaimed “big brother” Drake.

And even though rockers Hedley took three awards like the 16-year-old pint-sized pop star, he really dominated the contest by winning every category he was nominated and taking the crucial fan-voted titles of UR Fave Video and UR Fave New Artist.

“It’s my first award and to have it in Canada is amazing,” said Stratford native Bieber, who has sold more than one million copies of two No. 1 albums as he accepted the night’s first televised award — International Video by a Canadian for “Baby” featuring Ludacris. “This means the world to me.”
